About Alice
As faculty and registry clerk for the Diocesan Registrar, Alice advises on the faculty procedure for any internal or external works to commence in a church or churchyard in accordance with the faculty jurisdiction rules and the Chancellor of York’s memorial regulations. Alice also drafts licensing documentation for clergy and advises on general legal matters within the Diocese.

Alice works closely with the Chancellor of York and the DAC using the online faculty system which allows petitioners to track their progress. She also advises on the procedure for any gravespace, memorial or exhumation application and guides petitioners carefully through the steps.
Alice also deals with any licensing within the Diocese of York, completing the relevant checks and arranging for the documentation to be sent to the relevant Bishop/Archdeacon ahead of ceremonies.
