Recognition for Lupton Fawcett in Chambers UK 2025 guide

Lupton Fawcett has been ranked as a leading firm in five fields of practice in the latest edition of the Chambers and Partners UK guide.

The Chambers UK Legal Guide 2025 ranks law firms and solicitors based on thorough, independent research, including tens of thousands interviews with lawyers and clients.

It recognises Lupton Fawcett among the top firms in Yorkshire in the areas of employment, real estate, corporate, family and intellectual property law.

Managing partner James Richardson said: “Our inclusion in the Chambers 2025 guide is further evidence of our expertise across a wide range of fields.

“As with the recent Legal 500 rankings, we are ranked in some cases alongside or ahead of much larger firms, demonstrating the quality of our offering and the talent and knowledge of our people.

“I’m particularly pleased by our ranking in family law, where two members of our team – Chris Burns and Richard Buckley – are recognised as leading individuals in the region, reflecting the depth of our experience and our outstanding reputation in this field.”

In the corporate ranking Lupton Fawcett is placed in Band 2 and noted for its abilities in the education, healthcare and techonology sectors. Client comments included: “The lawyers at Lupton Fawcett work hard for their clients.”

The rankings place the firm’s family law department in Band 3 and highlight its capability in cases involving substantial business and overseas assets and its particular expertise in private and public children law matters.

In employment law, where it is ranked in Band 3, client comments included: “Every interaction with anyone from the team is positive.” The firm is noted for its employment capabilities in the education, construction and healthcare sectors with particular expertise in data protection and National Minimum Wage matters. The rankings also highlight Lupton Fawcett’s employment law training initiatives.

The firm was also ranked in Band 3 in intellectual property (IP) law, where it has a deep understanding of issues faced by technology, retail and manufacturing businesses. Clients reported: “I cannot recommend them highly enough in every aspect of service and communication. They are excellent and very knowledgeable across the legal spectrum.”

In the area of real estate, the firm, ranked in Band 5, handles asset classes including commercial, residential and industrial properties. The rankings also highlight Lupton Fawcett’s expertise in landed estates, agricultural land and ecclesiastical law.

The Chambers 2025 rankings come on the back of the firm’s recognition across 10 areas of practice in the 2025 Legal 500 UK rankings earlier this month.
