Lupton Fawcett’s Meghan Waldron shortlisted in Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards

We’re delighted that Meghan Waldron, a senior associate solicitor in our Regulatory & Corporate Defence team, has been shortlisted in the ‘Crime Leading Associate of the Year’ category of the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards.

The Legal 500 is the UK’s leading guide to the legal industry and the Northern Powerhouse awards are based on the independent research conducted in compiling it, putting the spotlight on legal talent and excellence across the North, North West and Yorkshire and the Humber regions.

Meghan joined Lupton Fawcett in 2016 and has many years’ experience in criminal and regulatory law, successfully defending corporate clients, company directors and other senior professionals in a wide variety of criminal matters from road traffic offences and assaults to complex fraud, serious sexual offences and murder.

Her shortlisting in the 2025 Northern Powerhouse Awards comes after she was named as a finalist in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category at last year’s awards.

James Richardson, managing partner at Lupton Fawcett, said: “Meghan has an excellent reputation throughout the region’s courts as an experienced and accomplished advocate. We’re thrilled that her skills, expertise and commitment to client care have been recognised through this accolade.”

Jeremy Scott, head of Lupton Fawcett’s Regulatory & Corporate Defence team, said: “Meghan is a huge asset to both our team and the clients she defends. She prides herself on providing excellent representation and exploring all possible avenues to achieve the very best outcome for clients.

“Our fingers are now crossed that she’ll also get the best outcome when the awards winners are announced next month!”

We’re also thrilled to have been shortlisted in the Deal of the Year category for our work on behalf of Coverings Ltd in relation to its sale of Tile Giant Limited to Stiled Holdings Limited.

The Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse awards event takes place on 13 March at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.
