Charity golf day raises £3,000 for Candlelighters
Lupton Fawcett’s recent golf day raised £3,000 for Candlelighters, a regional charity supporting Yorkshire families affected by childhood cancer.
Twelve teams from the local corporate and commercial business community participated in the event. Despite the windy and rainy Tuesday afternoon, three teams were captained by Lupton Fawcett partners: Giles Clegg, Daniel McCormack, and Hugh Thompson.
The winners were Interpath Advisory, with Clearwater as runners-up, and BTGUK in third place. Interpath had a fantastic day, winning the LF Golf Day for the second consecutive year. We hope they return next year to complete the trilogy! Clearwater also enjoyed success, with two team members winning the “nearest to the pin” and “longest drive” competitions, while the team secured second place overall.
Giles Clegg, Lupton Fawcett partner and head of corporate finance, said: “We were delighted to host this fantastic day and support such a worthwhile charity. Being able to organize an event like this for so many longstanding contacts, friends, and clients of Lupton Fawcett helps us strengthen our relationships in a fun and engaging way.”
Chris Salt, partnerships manager at Candlelighters, added: “We are very grateful to Lupton Fawcett and everyone who took part in the golf day for their support and outstanding fundraising. The amount raised will make a huge difference to families facing difficult circumstances. Thanks to efforts like these, we can continue providing emotional, practical, and financial support to families while investing in vital research to improve the lives and outcomes of children and young people with cancer.”
