Lupton Fawcett team named as finalist in Yorkshire Legal Awards

Our regulatory and corporate defence team has been shortlisted in the Regulatory & Compliance category of this year’s Yorkshire Legal Awards.

The team has expertise across every area of regulatory crime and compliance.

It specialises in advice on complex fraud and bribery, health and safety and environmental regulation, with services ranging from developing policies, procedures and employee training to minimise the risk of regulatory breaches to defence of organisations and individuals following a regulatory investigation or prosecution.

Jeremy Scott, who leads Lupton Fawcett’s regulatory and corporate defence team and is head of the firm’s York office, said: “The Yorkshire Legal Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within the region’s legal community.

“To be shortlisted is a testament to the whole team’s commitment to providing outstanding legal services and advice and its drive to achieving the best results for our clients in every scenario.

“I’m thrilled that we’ve been named as a finalist and am immensely proud of the team.”

Jeremy has over 30 years’ experience in representing regional, national and international businesses and their directors, advising upon regulatory investigations and high-profile criminal prosecutions.

The team also includes senior associate solicitor Meghan Waldron. Meghan was named as a Legal 500 Rising Star in Crime and Fraud in the region in 2021 and has in-depth experience in criminal matters including fraud, serious sexual offences and road traffic offences.

It is the second year running that the team has been shortlisted in the Regulatory & Compliance category of Yorkshire Legal Awards. Winners will be announced at a dinner at New Dock Hall in Leeds on 5 October.
