Lupton Fawcett shortlisted for top employment law award
The Employment team at Lupton Fawcett is hoping to add to the award given to it by The Legal 500 earlier in the year, having now been shortlisted for the Employment Law Team of the Year by the Yorkshire Lawyer magazine.
Operating from its Leeds, York and Sheffield offices, Lupton Fawcett has one of the largest and most experienced employment teams in the region, and, in the year to April 2017, has increased its turnover by 10 percent.
The Yorkshire law firm has a number of longstanding clients, including Northgate plc, Card Factory, Arcelor Mittal and Seabrooks Crisps, and has attracted further high profile clients this year including PUMA, Mamas & Papas and KPMG.
According to the organisers of the awards, the category was keenly contested with a large number of firms putting themselves forward.
Speaking about the news, Andy Gilchrist, Director and Head of the Employment Law team at Lupton Fawcett, said,
“It is great to be recognised once again by being shortlisted for this prestigious award.
Our excellent client base is the envy of many national firms, due to the fact we have an extremely strong and experienced team. Five of the eight lawyers within the employment department are directors, enabling our clients to receive pragmatic, commercial advice based on our in-depth knowledge.
As well as providing advice on specific issues, we also help HR teams keep up-to-date with the latest legislation through our ILM accredited Employment Law training days.
In response to demand, we have also set up specific teams to deal with National Minimum Wage, Data Protection and Gender Pay Gap. It was excellent to see our first Data Protection seminar fully booked resulting in further dates now being arranged.”
